At the beginning of the short rainy season end of October, the herds of wildebeest start arriving at the short-grass plains of the Serengeti around early November. The short-grass plains are located in the area east and south of the Seronera-the heart of the Serengeti, around Ndutu area and the northern Ngorongoro Conservation area. Huge herds of wildebeest and zebra can easily be seen roaming around the plains as they feed on the green pastures. It has been recorded that more than 250,000 calves of wildebeest are born during the first two weeks of February. They normally stay in the area till early April and later start heading west towards the Grumet River and Musabi plains in the Western Corridor of the Serengeti National Park. Kindly note that this is a natural phenomenon in rare cases the Great Migration be affected by rainfall, availability of water and food in the area, predators, and nutrition contents in the grasses.
The Marangu route was the original route climbed by the first Europeans over 120 years ago, and the "easiest" route for those who want to trek the traditional direct route. On the Marangu route, we stay in A-frame huts, instead of tents. The climb is led by our highly trained and expert mountain guides, and we enjoy fine mountain grub prepared by our chefs who are trained annually. 8 Day Itinerary - 6 Days trekking

Umbwe is one of the least climbed routes on Kilimanjaro, which makes it very appealing. We prefer this to the Machame Route which has become very crowded. For the first two days, you hardly see another climber. The rate of ascent is exactly the same as the other routes we trek and allows climbers who do not have extra time to summit happily and safely. On this route we start our summit climb at midnight. 9 Day Itinerary - 7 Days trekking
