Itinerary
Detailed itinerary

Day 1: 
Arrival Nairobi, Kenya.
A Shrike Safaris representative will meet and greet you at the airport and escort you to your tonight's lodge, just a short drive away. Depending on your arrival time, we can make our way to the Giraffe Center. Climb the elevated feeding platform so that you can hand feed the Rothschild giraffe!

Day 2: 
Nairobi | Masai Mara Game Reserve
You will be picked up in the morning by a  Shrike Safaris representative and drive through the scenic Great Rift Valley to the Mara Reserve arriving in good time for lunch. Enjoy your hot lunch then relax at the camp/ lodge. (depending on your preference, you may opt to go for afternoon game viewing)

Day 3: 
Masai Mara Game Reserve.
After breakfast depart for game viewing in Masai Mara (You may opt to take packed lunch or drive back to the camp for hot lunch and later afternoon proceed with game viewing). spent exploring the park in search of wild creatures including the big 5 and other predators.  
– Optional balloon safari can be arranged at an extra cost. 

The Mara offers wildlife in such variety and abundance that it is difficult to believe: over 450 species of animals have been recorded here. You will easily see lions, rhinos, hippos, crocodiles, giraffe, wildebeests, zebras, buffalo, warthogs, hyenas, jackals, wild dogs, buffalo, leopard, many kinds of antelopes and elephant. It is in the Mara that perhaps the most spectacular event of the natural world takes place. This is the annual migration of millions of wildebeest and zebra from the Serengeti (Tanzania) in search of water and pasture. Following on their heels are the predators of the savanna- lion, cheetah, wild dog, jackal, hyena, and vultures.

Day 4: 
Masai Mara | Serengeti National park in Tanzania
Have an early breakfast and, if time allows, fit in one more game drive before being dropped off at Isibania border, a border between Kenya and Tanzania where you will board your scheduled flight Serengeti. It will be your last chance to see the Masai Mara’s vast plains and its diverse range of birds and animals. On arrival at Serengeti enjoy a thrilling game drive as you will be picked up at the airstrip and drive to the camp for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 5: 
Serengeti national park | Full Day Game viewing.
After breakfast depart for full day game viewing in the Serengeti (You may opt to take packed lunch or drive back to the lodge for hot lunch and later proceed with game viewing).

Serengeti is arguably the best known for its Great Migration in the world. It is here where millions of large mammals, including herds of wildebeest and zebra and what is so called the 'Big 5' elephant, lion, buffalo, leopard and the rarely seen black rhinoceros. Over 500 species of birds have been recorded in the area, including eagles, bustards, owls, cranes, herons, vultures, and secretary birds. Some of Africa's biggest crocodile lie in wait for thirst wildebeest and zebra and in Serengeti rivers.

Enjoy game viewing as we take you to unique places that no one has ever instagrammed! Our friendly guide will share with you behind the scene perspectives, the connection between living things and non-living and how creatures depend on each other, how the Serengeti has no room for randomness and much much more...! making your safari more memorable and enjoyable!

You won’t have enough of the Serengeti. As you make your way back to the camp make sure to keep your eyes open for birds, including our very own Shrike, eastern White-crowned Shrike.

Day 6: 
Serengeti National Park | Ngorongoro Highland.
After breakfast depart for half day game viewing in the Serengeti before proceeding to Ngorongoro Highland. 

Explore an uncountable number of animals through savannah grasslands, islands in the sea of grass “kopjes”, acacia forests and savannah woodland. Our professional guide is always happy to share with you lots of hidden secrets in the Serengeti, why Serengeti shall never die, how the endless plain was formed and its roles in the great migration. Get to know why the park was named "Serengeti" instead of its original name 'Siringet"  and much much more..!

This day you have options to visit either Masai village or the Olduvai Gorge (some believe to be the cradle of mankind). Olduvai Gorge is the place where Dr. Louis Leakey and his wife Mary excavated remaining of Zinjanthropus and other ancient hominid fossils.

Day 7: 
Ngorongoro Crater | Full Day Game viewing.
After early breakfast descend down the crater for full-day game viewing. Early afternoon drive to the picnic site for lunch while enjoying the scenic view of the Ngorongoro Crater. 

The Ngorongoro crater, which has been declared a world heritage site, lies within the Ngorongoro Conservation Area that covers more than 8000 sq.km  With an area of 304 sq. km. the crater is the home of up to 30,000 large mammals. More than 100 species of birds not found in the Serengeti have been recorded here. This is the world's largest unbroken caldera and the 8th wonder of the world.  Our friendly safari guide is always happy to share with you about the behind the scene perspectives about the formation of the caldera, ecological facts and much much more..!

This is the only place in Africa where it is easy to find big cats like lions (5 prides of lions have been recorded), cheetah, clans of hyena, jackals, serval cats a few to mention. Search out for rarely seen black rhino

Later afternoon ascend up and drive to the lodge through the Great Rift valley escarpment

Day 8 & 9:
Great Rift Valley | Tarangire National Park
Soon after having your breakfast depart Arusha at 7.30 am and drive to Tarangire National park through the Great Rift valley. 

Tarangire is famous for its dense wildlife population, which is most spectacular in June and September, the dry period. During this time, thousands of animals including elephant, buffalo, giraffe, elands, kudu, wildebeest, hartebeest, and the rarely seen Oryx, migrate from Masai Steppe to the Tarangire River looking for water. Lions, leopards, and other predators follow the herds. Tarangire has the largest population of elephant in any park in the northern circuit and more than 550 species of birds have been recorded. Our professional safari guide is always happy to share with you lots of ecological and ethnological facts like the secret behind baobab trees and elephants in Tarangire, the roles of Tarangire River and much much more..!

Early evening afternoon, check out and drive to the lodge for hot dinner and evening spend your time enjoying your stay at the lodge.

Day 10: 
Arusha airport | Zanzibar Island
After breakfast drive to Arusha airport to catch up with a local flight to Zanzibar. Upon arrival in Zanzibar, our representative will be at the airport to meet and transfer you to the hotel, just a short drive away.

Day 11: 
Stone Town Tour| Spice tour | Sunset Dhow Cruise. 
 Stone Town is Home to famous Zanzibar Destinations. You can visit the Old Anglican Church, Old Arab Fort, Beit al Ajaib Museum, Livingstone House, Old Indian Dispensary, St Joseph's Cathedral and Slave monuments. 

Later afternoon, step onto the deck of our dhow, relax and let us sail you away on a magical sunset cruise to end your day. The sunset cruise leaves in the late afternoon from in front of the Zanzibar Serena Inn and cruises along the Zanzibar (Unguja) coast, slicing through the clear turquoise water. 
 
The hustle and bustle of busy people in Stone Town grow faint in the distance until they seem only a memory. 
 
Snacks, water, soft drinks and Live music encouraging you to sink back into the cushions and enjoy the romance of Africa while watching the scenery drift by. 
 
Onboard, there is a butler and personal guide who will accompany you on your cruise and give you a tour of Stone Town from the water as well as be able to answer any questions that you may have. The sun sets, changing the sky from shades of pinks and blues to magnificent golden colors as you sail back towards the glimmering lights of Stone Town in the distance with the wind gently blowing you back to shore.

Day 12 & 13: 
Leasure and Relaxing at the Beach.

Day 14: 
Zanzibar Airport | Fly back home. 
After breakfast, pack all your belongings and transfer to the airport (you may opt to fly to Dar es Salaam to connect with your International flight (4.45pm)  and fly back home.
