Detailed itinerary

Day 1: 
Arrive in Tanzania via Kilimanjaro International Airport, JRO.

A Shrike Safaris representative will meet and greet you at the airport and escort you to your tonight's hotel, just a short drive away. (Arrival time to be advised)

Day 2: 
Arusha City | Tarangire National Park

Soon after having your breakfast depart Arusha at 7.30 am and drive to Tarangire National Park through the Masai steppe in the northern circuit. 

Tarangire is famous for its dense wildlife population, which is most spectacular in June and September, the dry period. During this time, thousands of animals including elephant, buffalo, giraffe, elands, kudu, wildebeest, hartebeest, and the rarely seen Oryx, migrate from Masai Steppe to the Tarangire River looking for water. Lions, leopards, and other predators follow the herds. Tarangire has the largest population of elephant in any park in the northern circuit and more than 550 species of birds have been recorded. Our professional safari guide is always happy to share with you lots of ecological and ethological facts like the secret behind baobab trees and elephants in Tarangire, the roles of Tarangire River and much much more..!

Early evening afternoon, check out and drive to the lodge for hot dinner and evening spend your time enjoying your stay at the lodge.

Day 3: 
Tarangire National Park | Half Day Game viewing.

Head out early this morning, explore the  Tarangire National Park. Here baobab trees tower overhead, large cats prowl, and diverse birdlife abounds. During the early morning and early evening, you’ll witness predators at their most active. And your camp, right in the thick of it all, offers an intimate experience unavailable to most travelers.

Day 4:  
Drive to Serengeti National Park 

After your early breakfast, drive to Serengeti via the Great Rift Valley escarpment to the World famous, Serengeti National Park. Check in at the lodge/ camp and proceed with for your first game viewing in the Serengeti.

Serengeti is the best known for its Great Migration in the world. It is here where millions of large mammals, including herds of wildebeest and zebra and what is so called the 'Big 5' elephant, lion, buffalo, leopard and the rarely seen black rhinoceros. Over 500 species of birds have been recorded in the area, including eagles, bustards, owls, cranes, herons, vultures, and secretary birds. Some of Africa's biggest crocodile lie in wait for thirst wildebeest and zebra at Serengeti rivers.

Day 5 & 6: 
Serengeti national park | Full Day Game viewing.
After breakfast depart for full day game viewing in the Serengeti with game viewing at Seronera, the heart of the Serengeti through.
 - Go for early morning hot-air balloon safari on Saturday.

Serengeti is arguably the Africa’s breathtaking National Park. It is the home of millions of large mammals, including what is so called the Big 5: elephant, lion, buffalo, leopard and the rarely seen black rhinoceros. Over 500 species of birds have been recorded in the area, birds of prey, vultures, lovebirds, cranes, bateleur, weavers, and our very own Shrike-Northern White-Crowned Shrike. 
It is here where the world’s great migration takes place annually. Nile Crocodiles, the largest crocodile lie in wait in Serengeti rivers.

Day 7: 
Serengeti | Ngorongoro Highland.
After breakfast depart from the camp and drive direct to the World famous Serengeti National Park via the endless plains. 

Explore an uncountable number of animals through savannah grasslands, islands in the sea of grass “kopjes”, acacia forests and savannah woodland. Our professional guide is always happy to share with you lots of hidden secrets in the Serengeti, why Serengeti shall never die, how the endless plain was formed and its roles in the great migration. Get to know why the park was named "Serengeti" instead of its original name 'Siringet"  and much much more..!

This day you have an option of visiting either Masai village or the Olduvai Gorge (some believe to be the cradle of mankind). Olduvai Gorge is the place where Dr. Louis Leakey and his wife Mary excavated remaining of Zinjanthropus and other ancient hominid fossils.

Day 8: 
Ngorongoro Crater | Game viewing.
After early breakfast descends down the Ngorongoro crater for fantastic day game viewing.

The Ngorongoro crater, which has been declared a world heritage site, lies within the Ngorongoro Conservation Area that covers more than 8000 sq.km  With an area of 304 sq. km. the crater is the home of up to 30,000 large mammals. More than 100 species of birds not found in the Serengeti have been recorded here. This is the world's largest unbroken caldera and the 8th wonder of the world.  Our friendly safari guide is always happy to share with you about the behind the scene perspectives about the formation of the caldera, ecological facts and much much more..!

This is the only place in Africa where it is easy to find big cats like lions (5 prides of lions have been recorded), cheetah, clans of hyena, jackals, serval cats a few to mention. Search out for rarely seen black rhino

Day 9: 
The Great Rift Valley Escarpment | Lake Manyara National Park.
After breakfast drive to the Great Rift Valley escarpment and proceed to Lake Manyara National Park for game viewing.

Lake Manyara is famous for tree-climbing lions and pythons. The national park consists of underground natural forest that opens up into woodlands, grassland, and swamps beyond the soda lake itself covering 200 sq. km. Over 400 species of birds have been spotted, including flamingos, pelican, storks, cormorants, egrets, and geese. Day 10: 
Drive back to Kilimanjaro International Airport.
 After breakfast pack all your belongings and drive back to the airport (Depending on your flight time). This day  you have an option of visiting some curio/ gift shops for shopping and buying handcrafted products as well as precious gem 'tanzanite'
