Detailed itinerary

DAY 1: 

Dar es salaam to Nyerere National Park.
Depart at 7.00am from Dar es salaam to the Nyerere National Park. Check in at the lodge and later proceed with Boat Game viewing.

The Selous Game Reserve is the largest in Africa covering 54,600 square kilometers. The reserve gets its name from the hunter and explorer Frederick Courtney Selous. He was killed here during World War 1. It was originally set aside as a hunting area where animals are abundant but shyer than the Southern parks. 

In the afternoon we will explore diverse of wildlife by a boat in Rufiji River. Flocks of bird are searching for their bread on the shores of the Rufiji River while schools of hippos and Nile crocodiles are cooling and basking themselves.

DAY 2 & 3:

Nyerere National Park  (2-Full day Game viewing)
After breakfast depart for full day game viewing in  Nyerere National Park. (You may opt to take packed lunch or drive back to the camp for hot lunch and proceed with game viewing).

Nyerere is arguably the best-known wildlife sanctuary in the world. It is the home of millions of large mammals, including what is so called the Big 5: elephant, lion, buffalo, leopard and the rarely seen black rhinoceros. Excursions by a private 4x4 safari vehicle will permit you to have good photographic opportunities and the chance to explore different sections of the vast park. Over 500 species of birds have been recorded in the area, including eagles, bustards, owls, cranes, herons, vultures, and secretary birds. Some of Africa's biggest crocodile lie in wait in Rufiji River. Our friendly guide will share with you behind the scene insights, the connection between living things and non-living and how creatures depend on each other, how the Selous has no room for randomness and much more...! making your safari more memorable and enjoyable!

You won’t have enough of the Selous. As you make your way back to the lodge make sure to keep your eyes open for birds, including our very own Shrike, eastern white-crowned shrike.

DAY 4:

Walking with Bushman | Drive back to Dar es salaam city
After early breakfast departs for early walking safari with a bushman, return back the camp for breakfast. After enjoying a buffet breakfast, collect your packed lunch, check out and continue driving to Dar es salaam. On our way, we may stop for gift shop at the exit gate and continue heading to Dar es salaam and drop you at the airport/ hotel (drop off point to be advised)

Enjoy an early morning walking safari with a local bushman through the African bush. You will learn a lot from the bushmen, he will teach you tips and tricks how they survive in the bush and will give you an understanding of indigenous cultures.
