Overview

 

The programme begins in Arusha city to the wild heart of Africa’s legendary game reserves including the Serengeti, Ngorongoro Crater, and Tarangire National park. The Serengeti reveals her many delights dur- ing our stay here, including the spectacular Great migration, from where we see the beauty of Africa sparkling beneath us. This itinerary has been carefully crafted to present the best of Africa in all its raw and stunning beauty.

Day 1:

At 7.45 am, we are off to Tanzania’s Tarangire National Park. This gem of a reserve is known for its visually striking wilderness of ancient baobab trees set on rolling grasslands, huge herds of elephants and tremendous birdlife. The Tarangire River runs through the land providing a permanent water source and promise of strong wildlife.

Day 2:

Serengeti National Park

The vast expanse of the leg- endary Serengeti is next, where the trees of all seasons -  acacias tower over small herds of giraffes. Keep your eyes open to the hundreds of bird species Serengeti is known for. We also have an option to tour the nearby fossil beds at Olduvai Gorge, made famous by the discoveries of Louis and his wife Mary Leakey or visit a Maasai village glimpsing the life, homes and social structure of these proud and ancient people.

DAY 3:
Serengeti | Full Day Game viewing.

We find ourselves in the very heart of the migration corridor, a path travelled by nearly every species known to man.  This day will be devoted to an in-depth exploration of the great herds and dramatic interactions between herbivores and big cats like lions, leopard, cheetah, etc.

Join an optional hot air balloon ride to take in sweeping views of the Serengeti from above. (additional fees apply).

Day 4:

Ngorongoro Crater

Our journey con- tinues to the Ngorongoro Crater, an astonishing natural caldera spanning over 100 square miles with perhaps the best game view- ing in all of Africa. Stunning vis- tas combine with the drama of the wildlife within to take your breath away. Our lodge is spectacularly situated on the rim, revealing an awesome panorama below.

Day 5:

Drive back to Arusha city.

Our trip ends in Arusha city, you may visit the curio shops or art center to see the craftsmanship of local artisans before dropping you off at your hotel.
