Then Ngorongoro Crater, the New 8th Wonder of the world and Lake Manyara National Park. Your journey will take you to Arusha city where you will take a flight and land in the spice Island of Zanzibar for 3 nights stay. Your safari will be carefully orchestrated by a local, personable, informative safari host who will share behind the scene insight on the of NATURE and it’s beauty.

DAY 1

Arrival Kenya through Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, NBO

Upon arrival at the airport, a Shrike Safaris representative will meet and transfer you to your Ole-Sereni Hotel, spend the rest of the day at leisure enjoying walking around the surrounding areas and exploring the hotel’s facilities. 

 

Ole-Sereni Hotel features an outdoor pool, 2 restaurants plus a snack bar. Typically the hotel's fitness center features aerobic exercises, sauna, steam, massage services as well as a beauty salon.
The hotel is decorated in the typical style associated with a safari lodge, which includes bright colors, wooden particulars, and artwork in natural materials. The modern bedrooms are equipped with wall-mounted flat-screen TVs, free Wi-fi, and a smaller coffee table. In the bathrooms, dark-colored marble combines with huge shower boxes, and bathrobes and slippers are available when requested.

DAY 2:
Nairobi City | Masai Mara Game Reserve 

  • Flight: Nairobi, KE (Wilson Airport) to Masai Mara - Departing 1000hr ‐ Arriving 1100hr (1hr) (Economy)

You will be picked up in the morning by a  Shrike Safaris representative and get transferred to Wilson airport for an hour flight to Masai Mara Game Reserve. Depending on the number of passengers, there might be a few stops at other lodges along the way. You will arrive at Kichwa Tembo Tented Camp at lunch time. Enjoy your hot lunch then relax for a while at the lodge before going for afternoon game viewing.  

The best windows of your tented room invite the Mara inside! You may escape to the massage room to immerse in a relaxing treatment or browse the re-designed safari shop, which offers the best East African handicrafts. The rim-flow swimming pool, virtually on the edge of the Mara, boasts one of the world’s most amazing views.

DAY 3:
Masai Mara Game Reserve.
Today you have 2 game drives; Morning and Afternoon game drives. Enjoy game viewing as your explore endless land savannah and search out for the Great migration and wild creatures including the big 5 and other predators.  
– Optional balloon safari can be organized at an extra cost. 

The Masai Mara is very rich in wildlife: Over 450 species of animals have been recorded here. You can easily spot big cats and other wild animals including the pride of lions, rhinos, schools pf hippos, crocodiles, giraffe, herds of wildebeests, zebras, buffalo, warthogs, clans of hyenas, jackals, packs of wild dogs, herds of buffalo and elephants, leopard, many kinds of antelopes. It is here that probably the most spectacular animal migration of the natural world takes place, the annual migration of millions of wildebeest and zebra from the Serengeti in search of water and green pasture. Following on their heels are the large carnivores of the savanna including lion, cheetah, wild dog, jackal, hyena, and vultures.

DAY 4:
Masai Mara | Tarangire National park | Tanzania

  • Flight: Masai Mara to Wilson Airport  Departing 11:00 ‐ Arriving 12:15 (1hr) (Economy)           
  • Flight: Wilson Airport to Tarangire/ Kuro Airstrip  Departing 12:40 – 15:35 (2hr55min)                                                               ‐ with a connection  at Kilimanjaro International Airport, Tanzania

On arrival at Tarangire National park enjoy a thrilling game drive as you will be picked up at the airstrip and get transferred to Malamboi Tented Camp for evening leisure and Private Sundowner. Enjoy an appetizer and cocktail on top of a kopje, the perfect place to see the impressive views of lake Burunge and Tarangire National Park

DAY 5:
Tarangire National park (Full day game viewing)

After breakfast departs for full day game viewing in the Tarangire national park, the park has been recorded to have the higher concentration of elephants. 

Tarangire is popular for its abundant wildlife, particularly between June and September, during the dry period. Tarangire has the largest population of elephant in any park in the northern circuit and more than 550 species of birds have been recorded. DAY 6:
Tarangire | Lake Manyara National park 

Right after a hearty breakfast, pack your belongings and drive for approximately an hour to Lake Manyara National park, the only place in Africa where Hemingway described as, ‘the loveliest I had seen in Africa’.


Lake Manyara National Park, a destination famously held precious to Hemingway. Upon driving through the scenery of the groundwater forest, you easily get to know why he called it his favorite national park in all of the African continent. Your expert tour guide offers detailed information about the park and wildlife you encounter while on game viewing. The park was famous for its elusive tree-climbing lions although currently lions in the Serengeti has been seen relaxing on the tree after a successful hunt, hippos cooling off in the water, and flamingoes flocking together in the lake.

DAY 7:
Ngorongoro crater | Full Day Game Viewing.

After a delicious breakfast, you will be transferred by a tarmac road from Lake Manyara to the Loduare entry gate and proceed to the bowl shaped and breathtaking Ngorongoro Crater, the place of wonders! – called as the 8th Wonder of the World... from its miraculous terrain to the abundant trees, plants, birds and other creatures it supports, from its status as a World Heritage Site to the multiple land use where man and his livestock live together with wild animals. 

After a day of exploration, you retire to Ngorongoro Sopa Lodge, which offers the epitome of safari elegance. Relax by the rim of the Crater with your sundowner in hand or head to bed to rest up for tomorrow’s Serengeti adventures.

DAY 8:
Ngorongoro Highland | Serengeti National Park through Endless Plains.
After breakfast depart from Sopa Lodge and drive to the World famous Serengeti national park through short and tall grass "endless" plains which are the breeding area for the Great migration. 

Drive through the Serengeti plains where large herds of wildebeest and zebra are found (December to March). It has been recorded that in the first 2 weeks of February more than 200,000 calves of wildebeest are born in the plains. This is the calving period.

This day you have an option of visiting either Masai village or the Olduvai Gorge (some believe to be the cradle of mankind). Olduvai Gorge is the place where Dr. Louis Leakey and his wife Mary excavated remaining of Zinjanthropus and other ancient hominid fossils.

DAY 9:
Serengeti National Park | Seronera Area.

After breakfast depart for full day game viewing at Seronera area, the home of BIG cats (You may opt to take packed lunch or drive back to the camp for hot lunch and later afternoon proceed with game viewing). 

– Optional balloon safari can be arranged at an extra cost.  

Explore an uncountable number of animals through savannah grasslands, islands in the sea of grass “kopjes”, acacia forests and savannah woodland. Our professional guide is always happy to share with you lots of hidden secrets in the Serengeti, why Serengeti shall never die, how the endless plain was formed and its roles in the great migration. DAY 10: 
Serengeti national park | Early morning game viewing.

Today we will explore the Serengeti on early morning and late afternoon game drives when wildlife is most active. Depart the lodge at 0600hr for early morning game viewing before sunrise and later drive back to the lodge for your sumptuous breakfast and wait until the afternoon when we will proceed with game viewing in the Serengeti. 

Early morning is the best time for game viewing as most of the killings take place around this time. Our professional guide is always happy to share with you lots of hidden secrets in the Serengeti national park, why Serengeti is the home of the Great migration, learn more about why Serengeti shall never die..!  and much much more. Over 500 species of birds have been recorded including birds of prey, Nubian vulture and other species of vultures, hornbills, eagles and our very own Shrike-Northern White-crowned Shrike.

DAY 11: 
Serengeti National park |  Arusha Airport | Zanzibar Island
After breakfast pack, all your belongings drive to Seronera airstrip to take a local flight to Zanzibar via Arusha airport, 

Flight: Arusha airport to Zanzibar  Departing 1055hr ‐ Arriving 1420hr (Economy)

DAY 12:
Stone Town Tour| Spice tour | Sunset Dhow Cruise. 
 Stone Town is Home to famous Zanzibar Destinations. You can visit the Old Anglican Church, Old Arab Fort, Beit al Ajaib Museum, Livingstone House, Old Indian Dispensary, St Joseph's Cathedral and Slave monuments. 

Late afternoon, step onto the deck of our dhow, relax and let us sail you away on a magical sunset cruise to end your day. The sunset cruise leaves in the late afternoon from in front of the Zanzibar Serena Inn and cruises along the Zanzibar (Unguja) coast, slicing through the clear turquoise water. 
The hustle and bustle of busy people in Stone Town grow faint in the distance until they seem only a memory. Snacks, water, soft drinks and Live music encouraging you to sink back into the cushions and enjoy the romance of Africa while watching the scenery drift by.
