DAY 1: 
Arrive Tanzania, (Dar es salaam | Arusha | Mwanza.) 

A Shrike Safaris representative will meet and greet you at the airport and escort you to your tonight's hotel, just a short drive away. (Please locate the city/ airport where we will pick you up in Tanzania).

Meals included: Bed & Breakfast.

 

DAY 2: 
Serengeti National park 

After your early breakfast, you will be transferred to the airport for your scheduled flight to the World famous, Serengeti National park. On arrival, you will be met by a representative from Shrike Safaris for your first game viewing in the Serengeti.

Serengeti is arguably the best-known wildlife sanctuary in the world. It is the home of millions of large mammals, including what is so called the Big 5: elephant, lion, buffalo, leopard and the rarely seen black rhinoceros. Over 500 species of birds have been recorded in the area, including eagles, bustards, owls, cranes, herons, vultures, and secretary birds. It is here where the world’s great migration is observed. Some of Africa's biggest crocodile lie in wait in Serengeti rivers.

DAY 3:
Serengeti National Park | Full Day Game viewing.
After breakfast depart from the camp and drive direct to the World famous Serengeti National park via the endless plains. 

Explore an uncountable number of animals through savannah grasslands, islands in the sea of grass “kopjes”, acacia forests and savannah woodland. Our professional guide is always happy to share with you lots of hidden secrets in the Serengeti, why Serengeti shall never die, how the endless plain was formed and its roles in the great migration. Get to know why the park was named "Serengeti" instead of its original name 'Siringet"  and much much more..!

DAY 4:
Serengeti National Park | Ngorongoro Highland.
After breakfast depart from the camp and drive direct to the World famous Serengeti National park via the endless plains. Explore the breeding ground for the great migrations 


Depart the cool, grassy Serengeti National park and later arrive on through the endless plains, where large herds of wildebeest and zebra are found between December to March. Follow the great migration! It has been recorded that in the first 2 weeks of February more than 200,000 calves of wildebeest are born in the plains. This is the calving period. The Serengeti/ Ngorongoro ecosystem has become a household name largely due to film depictions of its migration.Our professional guide is always happy to share with you lots of hidden secrets in the Serengeti, why Serengeti shall never die, how the endless plain was formed and its roles in the great migration. This day you have an option of visiting either Masai village or the Olduvai Gorge (some believe to be the cradle of mankind). Olduvai Gorge is the place where Dr. Louis Leakey and his wife Mary excavated remaining of Zinjanthropus and other ancient hominid fossils.

Day 5:

Ngorongoro Crater | Full Day Game Viewing.

After early breakfast drive to the crater via the endless plains of the Serengeti. Enjoy your packed lunch as you descend down the Ngorongoro crater. 

The Ngorongoro crater, which has been declared a world heritage site, lies within the Ngorongoro Conservation Area that covers more than 8000 sq.km  With an area of 304 sq. km. the crater is the home of up to 30,000 large mammals. More than 100 species of birds not found in the Serengeti have been recorded here. This is the world's largest unbroken caldera and the 8th wonder of the world.  Our friendly safari guide is always happy to share with you about the behind the scene perspectives about the formation of the caldera, ecological facts and much much more..!

This is the only place in Africa where it is easy to find big cats like lions (5 prides of lions have been recorded), cheetah, clans of the hyena, jackals, serval cats a few to mention. Search out for rarely seen black rhino

Afternoon, ascending the crater and drive to the lodge for hot dinner and leisure.

DAY 6:
Ngorongoro highland | The Great Rift Valley | Arusha city

After breakfast pack all your belongings drive through the green forest of the Ngorongoro highland to the exit gate via the Great Rift Valley escarpment before proceeding to Arusha city.
