At Shrike Safaris, we follow a thoughtful, conversation-led process that gives you space to reflect, ask questions, and shape a journey that feels entirely your own.

How Your Journey Takes Shape

Step One
We Begin With a Conversation

Every journey begins with an unhurried conversation.

Either email or phone call, not a sales call.

It is a chance for us to listen.

We take time to understand:

  • How you like to travel

  • Your interests and priorities

  • Your preferred pace and comfort level

  • Any previous safari experience

  • Questions or concerns you may have

 

This conversation helps us understand not just where you want to go, but how you want the journey to feel.

There is no obligation at this stage.

Step 2:
Design Your Itinerary

Based on our conversation, a dedicated safari specialist designs your journey from scratch.

​

This includes:

​

  • Carefully chosen regions and parks

  • Thoughtful routing to avoid unnecessary travel

  • Lodge and camp recommendations aligned with your style

  • Private guiding throughout

 

We do not reuse itineraries.

Every route, timing decision, and lodge choice is made with intention.

Often, this means recommending fewer locations than expected - allowing more time to experience each place properly.

Step 3:
Review and Refine Together

You receive a clear, detailed proposal outlining your journey.

We then refine it together.

​

Adjustments may include:

​

  • Changing the pace

  • Exploring alternative regions or lodges

  • Extending or shortening time in specific areas

 

We take as much time as needed until the journey feels right.

​

Only once you are comfortable do we move forward to confirmation.

Step 4:
Confirmation and Preparation

Once your journey is confirmed:

​

  • We secure all reservations

  • We provide clear payment schedules

  • We share practical travel guidance and packing advice

 

You will know exactly what to expect before you travel.

​

Our team remains available to answer questions as your departure approaches.

Step 5:
Travel With Confidence

From the moment you arrive in East Africa, you are supported.

​

You will have:

​

  • A private guide for your safari

  • A well-maintained vehicle suited to the terrain

  • Local, on-the-ground support from our team

 

Because we operate locally, we can adapt quickly if conditions change.

Your role is simple: be present and enjoy the journey.

Step 6:
After Your Journey

Our relationship does not end when you return home.

We welcome your feedback and reflections, and many of our travelers return to East Africa with us again.

​

Every journey helps inform how we continue to refine our craft.
