Our Planning Process

A Calm, Thoughtful Way to Plan a Safari

_edited.jpg

Planning a Safari Should Feel Exciting
— Not Overwhelming.

At Shrike Safaris, we follow a simple, intentional process built around listening, clarity, and care.

We don’t start with packages.

We don’t rush decisions.

We take time to understand you, then design a journey that feels natural, unhurried, and deeply personal.

How Your Journey Takes Shape

Step One:
We Listen

Every journey begins with a conversation.

We’ll ask about:

  • Your interests and curiosities

  • How you like to travel

  • Your pace and comfort preferences

  • Your previous travel experiences

  • Your general budget range

There are no right or wrong answers.
This is simply a space to share what you’re drawn to and what matters most.

Our role is to listen carefully and notice patterns.

Step Two:
We Translate

After we understand you, we begin shaping possibilities.

We quietly translate what you’ve shared into:

  • Destination flow

  • Length of stay in each area

  • Style of lodging and camps

  • Guiding approach

  • Daily pacing

This is where a safari begins to take form — not as a template, but as a reflection of you.

Step Three:

We Design

You receive a thoughtfully designed proposal that outlines:

  • The overall journey flow

  • Key experiences and regions

  • Suggested accommodations

  • Estimated investment range

Nothing is final at this stage.

This is a starting point for collaboration.

Step Four:
We Refine Together

We adjust, refine, and fine-tune until the journey feels right.

This may include:

  • Slowing the pace

  • Adding or removing regions

  • Adjusting lodging style

  • Rebalancing nights

  • Clarifying experiences

We often recommend doing less — but better.

Our goal is not to fill days, but to create space for presence.

Step Five:
We Handle the Details

Once the journey is confirmed, we quietly take care of:

  • Reservations and confirmations

  • Internal flights and transfers

  • Park permits and logistics

  • Pre-departure guidance

  • On-the-ground coordination

You don’t need to manage multiple vendors.
You have one point of contact.

Everything feels handled.

Step Six:
You Travel, We Support

From arrival to departure, our team is present behind the scenes.

Guides, drivers, and hosts work in quiet coordination so your experience remains smooth and calm.

If anything needs adjustment, we handle it.

Your role is simply to be present.

Who This Process Is For

Our planning process is best suited for travelers who:

  • Value personalization over speed

  • Appreciate thoughtful dialogue

  • Enjoy being part of the design process

  • Prefer quality over quantity

  • Want a calm, well-paced journey

If this resonates, you’re likely a good fit.
